The Collection Strategy and Development Department sets Duke University Libraries’ overall strategies for developing and managing library general collections, coordinates the gifts-in-kind program, and engages nationally on collection strategies including shared print retention and prospective collection development. The department aims to ensure an appropriate scope and caliber for the resources available to the Duke community while focusing on ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the scholarly information ecosystem.
