Librarian for Biological Sciences, Global Health, and Artificial Intelligence Learning

About me:

As the subject librarian for biological sciences, global health, and Artificial Intelligence Learning, I assist students and researchers who are studying or conducting research in biology, evolutionary anthropology, or global health. I also actively guide faculty, students, and staff in responsible, creative, and impactful use of AI technologies across various learning contexts. I offer classroom instruction, individual research support, and project consultation in any of these areas, as well as selecting materials for library purchase. Before joining Duke Libraries in 2013, I worked in various library jobs at Davidson College, North Carolina Biotechnology Center, and Northwestern University Library.

Research interests:

Emerging issues in AI literacy; science information sources; teaching and learning of critical information / AI literacy; impact of the Google/internet/web on knowledge, research, and life as we know it; information privilege and information access disparities; systematic review / knowledge syntheses methodologies

What I do outside of work:

Hang out with family, friends, and dogs (Wiki and Elliott); compete in Scrabble tournaments; Consume dystopian tv/movies/literature
